My Son's Registration out of UK more than 180 days in a year

Post by ramdesh » Wed Jul 25, 2012 9:37 pm

Me, my wife and my Son have ILR. We are planning to apply for Naturalization in January 2013. My son is 3.5 years old (Born in India in Feb 2009)and we are planing to leave him in India till January. He will be staying more than 180 Days outside the UK. Will this be a problem for him while applying registration?

Thanks Jumbo,

I have read the link you said and also 9.17 article. Under 9.17.18 it states "The length of residence in the United Kingdom is less important for children under 13. " and section 9.17.19 for child over 13 years old it states " We should normally expect a minor child aged 13 or more to have completed 2 years residence in the United Kingdom before agreeing to registration".

So my understanding is that they are talking about qualifying period no the days out of the UK.

So my question is still unanswered. Please help.

Thank You.

Ram

This is because there is no such requirement for children.
