I am on Tier 1 General visa and my wife is on Tier 1 general dependent. Our daughter was born in UK 16 months ago. We never applied for her Indian passport thinking that we can do it any time. I am going to do it now but have come across this information on HCI website that we had to register child's birth within 1 year of her birth otherwise they have to forward the application to Ministry of Home Affairs, India. They also need a affidavit and letter from Home Office stating that child hasn't acquired British nationality, which I will provide but I am worried that they will send application and documents to ministry of home affairs and the process could take a lot of time. Has anyone else been through this? How much time it took? Please help
