Schengun Visa for cruise trip

Hi,

I'm on spouse visa and my wife is british citizen. We are planning mediterranean cruise holidays, start and end at Southampton. It will stop at many islands of spain and italy etc.

Could someone please tell me

1. do I need schengun visa for this or how will it work?

2. If i take schengun visa, the country i get schengun visa from, should
that be the first country to land?
