Indian Passport Re-Issue: Query regarding address

Hello folks

immiboards has been very helpful to me all through my Tier1 Visa application/Tier1 extension. Thanks a ton to all the members who have been kind to answer my queries.

My query now is regarding the address on the Indian passport during re-issue at HCI London. I currently have my hostel address on my passport bio page.

To change it to my new residence address in India, can I submit scanned copies of bank statements/property documents as address proof? Or MUST it be original along with copies?

Is it possible to change the address on the Indian passport to my current residence address in the UK?

Finally, would the HCI folks care if I just want to leave the address (hostel address) on my passport as it is without any changes?

Anyone with some recent experience in the same situation? Kindly share.
