Regarding SOC Code

Hi guys,

My visa is getting expired in Nov 2012. My Salary is 20,500 per year. But the desired salary i have to get is 23000 for SOC Code 2123. It will be ok even if am not getting desired salary before applying for tier 2 general. Or should i fill some other SOC code which is matching my salary. Please reply me guys. It will be so kind if some one replied.

Hi,

I think you have to have appropiate salary according to your soc code as that is why soc code system is in place i am not too sure i am write or wrong but that is what my understanding is and also from where you get the list of soc please provide me a link of that and will have a look if i am on correct salary as per my soc code

what immigration category are you in at present and what immigration category are you planning to apply for?

The salary you are being offered under T2G must be either £20k or the minimum that is in the codes of practice for the job SOC code, whichever the higher.

The employer, not you, has to determine what the SOC code is for the job they are offering you. It has to be stated in the CoS.
