Conviction for using phone while driving

Hi, I am applying for tier 1 general extension next month, and just received 3 points on my DL with court orders to pay fine.

1. Now in the application form should I mention this as a conviction or not ?
2. Also, if declaring it, does it affect the decision of giving the visa.

Please help on this. Regards

You have to declare it but it will not affect the outcome.
