Tier1 General Extension: 3 yrs granted instead of 2 yrs.!!

Post by h1b||tier1 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 6:54 pm

Hello

I extended my Tier1 General visa from Croydon PEO and received my biometric card by post today.

My initial leave to remain was for 3 years and hence I was expecting to be granted 2 more years of leave to remain with my extension. However, UKBA has issued me further 3 years leave to remain..!!

Is this a mistake or is there a change in rule for Tier1 General extension? Please could you advice my next course of action?

Many thanks in advance
Kind regards,

How do you circumstances match the rules? On which date were you last granted leave.

245CB. Period and conditions of grant
(a) Leave to remain will be granted for a period of 2 years, to an applicant who has, or was last granted, leave as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010.
(b) in all other cases, leave to remain will be granted for a period of 3 years.

It could be a mistake. Initial leave and extention normally sum up to 5 years not 6 years. You have no onerous to get it corrected.

Hi

I got a reply from UKBA advising me to contact my case worker. But I don't have the details of my case worker with me. How can I get the contact details of the case worker?

Kind regards,
