Employer asking for visa

Hi everyone,
As you all know that tier 1 extension is taking
Long time to get the visa.
I had my biometrics two and half month ago
I got the conformation letter from ukba
Now my employer is asking me for visa,
Is conformation letter enough to prove I m
Legal to work.

you acknowledgement letter from UKBA is enough to prove that you are legal to work
