Tier 1 Dependent extension - marriage certificate necessary?

Post by ask.tier1 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 8:46 pm

Hi,
I am applying for in country extension of my dependent spouse via post. However I don't have original marriage certificate with me.

On the dependent policy guidance or application form, I could not find requirement of marriage certificate, however on the forums some of the members have mentioned about marriage certificate as one of the submitted documents.

Is the original marriage certificate must for the spouse's Tier 1 extension?

Thanks in advance.

It is for the proof of change in surname (for the woman). If you have another doc to support that, or if there hasn't been any change in surname on marriage then you need not submit

shargaur: Thanks for your prompt response.

sals82: Thanks for precisely listing out the criteria when the certificate is mandatory or nice to have. This will surely help me and many others in similar situation like me.
