I fully believe the above information is not correct. In the guidance it is written that you posses "IELTS qualification of Band 6". It does not say whether it is overal band or individual band.

If you ever take IELTS to meet university requirement they will normally say like this. IELTS overal band of 6.5 (or whatever) with no band less than 5.0. They will never say each band 6.5.

If they want each module 6 then I am not eligible.

If they accept overall band 6, then I can apply.

because in one module I have 5.5 and in one module I have 6.5 ,
so it make balance 6 band for me overall.

I am confused :(

Which email address is suitbale to send them email ?

Also my study was in English, so I think its better to send them only letter from university.

and in other side I am thinking to attach both things , I mean university letter + IELTS result overall 6 band.

wpcustomers@ind.homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

If overall 6 will be ok then only IELTS is enough too.

Has anyone got the clarification from HO, whether the the requirement is overall band score of 6, or 6 in each skill?

I wrote an email to HSMP and got their formal answer.

"Thank you for your enquiry about the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
(HSMP).

Unfortunately, due to an unprecedented level of requests for
information by e-mail we have compiled a list of "frequently asked questions" that we hope will address your query."

"All applicants will be required to speak English to a required level.
English language proficiency will be tested at both initial HSMP and at
extension stage. A standard of English language equivalent to the
internationally recognised IELTS Qualification Level 6 will be required,
although some alternative English language tests deemed equivalent to
IELTS 6 will also be acceptable. Alternatively, individuals with evidence
of studying a Bachelors degree taught in English will also qualify. "

Now I believe that overall band 6 is required both Academic and General are acceptable. See the new HSMP form, there is nothing like band in each IELTS module. Anyway requirement cannot be clear till 5 Dec.

Hi,

I am preparing for my extention now itself.

I am getting letter from the dean of the College where I studied which is affiliated to the awarding University. I cant get letter directly from university. Is that Ok?

The letter which I planned to get is

This letter is to confirm that XX Engineering degree, awarded to Mr. X in September 19xx, is an engineering program with medium of instruction in English. Consequently all the courses during eight semesters, from July 19xx to May 19xx were taught in English Language.

Is these words are enough?
