p60?

Post by The Confused One » Thu Nov 09, 2006 9:09 pm

Hi All,

This is just a general question but owuld very much appreciate if anybody can give me an answer to the following questions?

If a person applying for a spouse visa has only recently started work, say a few months, and they dont obviously have a P60 what other evidence can they provide that they are paying tax and NI (other than payslips?)

Is a Sponsor letter by the UK spouse necessary? And if so should it be attested by a solicitor?

Does a letter from a prospective landlord need to be attested by a solicitor? Do you need provide copies of the landlord's indentity such as certified passport copies?

sorry to bug you all but would really appreciate if anybody has any answers to these questions

thanks

Not sure about the answer to your tax question, I would have assumed the payslips would suffice?

Sponsership letter isn't mandatory, but everything helps strengthen an application.......although if you have nothing to put in a sponsorship letter because all the points are already covered in the application then there wouldn't be much point. I used the sponsorship letter to 'fill in the gaps' with regards to any info about our relationship, marriage, future plans etc that the ECO wouldn't know about otherwise just by reading the application. As far as I know it doesn't need to be attested by a solicitor.

Same goes for the landlords letter, and as far as I know you don't need any proof of his identity.

Hope that helps.

When I applied for ILR for my dependent child, I produced the P60, which was waived away with her saying 'that is a P60, do you have your payslips?'.

^ that's probably cos I assume they want to see your P60 in addition to your payslips, not instead of.
