Extension Applications - 2 months before expiry?

Post by v_willrock » Wed Jul 07, 2004 7:03 pm

Just noticed this on the Home Office site: HSMP Extensions need to be filed 2 months before expiry (please see link below and scroll down to FAQ No. 5).

http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/workin ... grant.html?

I was under the impression that you could file for an extension only 1 month before the visa expired. So....is this a typo?

Any care to comment?

I'd assume they simply account for the actual delays that renewal applications are now subject to.

This appears to be a new development - IMHO it may be a typo.

I remember ajaxyz got HSMP Visa for two years at a post in India

There are so many implications for HO accepting applications 2 months before the expiry of the 1st year - especially at the ILR stage

If the HSMP renewal is approved early - then there is a possibility that one may not be able to meet the '4 year period' of stay at ILR stage - ..

...it is early days though - things will change gradually
Where there is a will there is a way.

This would not be a point to worry as long as the Home Office starts the extension from the expiry date of the original visa(first one year visa).
Is that correct ?

Hmmm!!
and i was thinking it's 1 month.
Learnt lesson: always keep on checking websites anything can change anytime.

Chess: yes i still have 2 years EC :)
Yesterday i sent back to HC, asking them to make it 1 year :(
By tomorrow i'll get their final verdict. I have also asked them to give a letter if they say it's valid for 2 yrs. See what gonna happen.
I was not the only one who got for 2 yrs i read here that other also got for 2 yrs.

I'll update about EC in seperate thread, it will beneficial for all
