First , i will like to thank Admins and Moderators who introduced this forum as a channel to allow us help each other with Visa application issues.
I am applying for extension in November, 2012 and below is my earnings outlook
1) I was on Maternity leave from Oct 2011 - May 2012 so i will be using 2 different tax periods to apply
2) Periods i intend to use is :
April 2011 - October 2011 : Self employed earnings ( tax period 2011/2012)
May 2012 - Nov 2012: employed and self employed earnings ( Tax period 2012/2013
3) Self employed Tax paid for the period 2011/2012 : £ 456
No self employed tax paid for period 2012/2013 as this is not due yet
4) Total earnings
April 2011 - oct 2011 : £9,000 Tax paid £456
May 2012 - Nov 2012 - Salaried : £10,100 ( i am paid monthly so i know my gross salary by Nov)
May 2012 - Sep 2012 -Self employed : £11,000 ( Still making sales and will know total net to declare by November.
My question is this
1) For period 2011/2012, should i declare my profit before or after tax
2) For period 2012/2013, since i have not yet paid tax and tax will be due by January 2014, do i still need to declare my profit before or after Tax knowing that tax will not be due until Jan 2014. If i should declare profit after tax for this period, then do i have to manually calculate tax that will be deducted in 2014??
Can a senior or member please shed light on this? I will highly appreciate your guidance and advise
