Travelling without Visa to India - new british citizen

Hi All,

I have received my british passport today finally. Since I had Indian passport earlier. I will not get visa untill I get surrender certificate for my passport.

VFS enquiry has confirmed me that Indian Govt allows me to travel to India for 3 months grace period as long as I come back within three months.

I think getting surrender certificate and visa in next 15 working days will prove extremely challenging I need to travel on 10th November.

Can somebody please guide what should I do. Not sure if Present both Indian and UK passport at All immigration checkpoints.

If anybody has excercised the option please let me know otherwise I am looking at missing Diwali with my family.
