Love of my life is an overstayer!

Post by tanasha » Mon Nov 27, 2006 11:11 pm

Hi,

I am constantly searching for answers to help me through this stressful time and I often feel the internet is not trust worthy but here it goes...

My partner and I are extremely in love. When he hurts i hurt, that kind of relationship. He's my soulmate. Only problem is, he is an overstayer of 5 yrs. He cannot go back to his country (jamaica)as they probably wont let him come back here, plus there are people out to get him. He can't apply for asylum, because his mum lives in his jamaica and he wouldn't be able to see her if he did. I have never been so emotionally drained with worry in my life. We want to get married but fear that when he goes to claim his spouse visa in his country, they won't let him. we want to have children but are afraid we wont be able to cope without him being able to work (obviously!!!). I feel stuck. Scared to go forward but never looking back. Please could some one help me. Has anyone been through this situation before? I'm so frightened that if we make a move to get things correct, it could turn very sour!!!

Hi I was in a similar situation my husband had overstayed and when I was pregnant went back to Jamaica.Since he has been back there we have got married over there and me and our daughter have been there a few times on visits. Its hard but while there here in the UK you cannot live without the constant thought of if they get deported etc.Im not a expert but from advice we recieved and I have since read on these forums it seems that him going back to Jamaica is the best optiton and applying from there.Stay strong

Hi. Thanks for your replies so far. We are currently living to gether and have information to prove so, but he does not work so I pay his way. Also, he had been sleeping from one place to another when he first came until he met me as his family had chucked him out with no place to stay. For a while he was homeless. Will they not question this long period with no income at his interview in jamaica???

Hello,

There are certain rules which the applicants must follow. So are the Embassies and High Commissions. What I mean if you both properly prepare the application it should work.

Regards,

Anton
