Required funds - Clarification please

Hello,

I would grately appreciate any help in clarifying the funds required for my brother's Tier-1 extension.

He has come to UK 1st time in Oct-2010 on Tier-1 VISA. Stayed here for 3 months then went back to India during Jan-2011. He then came back to UK during May-2012. He has to renew his VISA in 2013-April. By the time he is due for renewal he would have not completed 12 months stay but including the 1st time stay in 2010 he will.

Could someone confirm if he bad to show funds required as per below 12 months stay or above 12 months stay?

According to immigration rules (Appendix C), a Tier 1 (General) migrant is required to show GBP 900 for a leave to remain (i.e. - extension) application.

Given that you were awy from the UK for approx. 16 months, and would have been in the UK for <12 months in April 2013, suggest that you follow (a).
