Working in the UK

Post by Adojay » Mon Nov 19, 2012 1:48 pm

Hi All,

I have a friend back in my home country that is looking at relocating to the UK to live and work. He is looking at what his options are, including if it requires studying here for his Masters degree to increase his chances. I have given him my advice which includes;

1. Getting Tier-1 General visa would require earning up to 50k and above to obtain a visa. However, am not sure if this is true.

2. Under Tier-2, he would have to be sponsored by a UK company. Again, am not too certain what the current situation is.

3. If coming as a student, PSW has now been discontinued so he would not be able to convert to Tier-1 General visa.

Could anyone of the more experienced mods advise me of what the options are regarding his current situations?

Kind regards,

Adojay

There is noting called as tier 1 visa in terms of fresh application. This category is closed now.

Need to get sponsored from company -this is still possible.

not sure about this but you can't change to tier 1 any more.
