Traffic Offence after Naturalisation application

Post by ftse100 » Fri Nov 23, 2012 9:06 pm

Dear Seniors

I was wondering if someone got the 3 fixed penalty points after 1 month of the naturalisation application, what would be the status of that application?

Many thanks

Probably no effect on the status if it's your first FPN in a 12 month period.

What are the details?

Thank you for the quick reply.

Well, it's contravention code 51 which is entering into a 'no entry'. Yes, it's the first FPN ever in 7 years' driving.

If it is a simple FPN (not court conviction), and if it is a single one (your first ever, even), the effect will be zip. Relax.

Driving past a no entry sign is a driving error - no way that could possibly be interpreted as sign of bad character!

If I made such a mistake right now ( three weeks into a naturalization app. myself ), I may well be inclined to limit my driving / take some public transport in order to best ensure I didn't do something similar again before receiving approval - but that's just my cautious way. A second such driving error in the next couple weeks may justifiably be perceived as a "reckless" character.

But just the one like you had, no way should you be worried!

Relax, you're one of few on this forum in the first half of October to be approved. You should be getting your positive decision this week or next!
