I think they are referring to Band A, B, C, D or E as stated in page 24 of the guidance document.

After a thought analysis, I got the following:

Q26: Date of your first pay slip
Q27: Date of your last or 12th pay slip
Q28: Country Code = A, B, C, D, E
Q29: Earning Country
Q30: Amount earned in Q29 in local currency
Q31: Earning band = 1,400+ ....... + 40,000+, after conversion from local earning to GBP

ajilani- i think you're 100% right.

ARHAHSHSH- just sent my application less than 2 hours ago. i put the wrong thing in Q31. I put # points, not the band (29,000+) any idea if they make allowances for any little typos like this?S?S?S?

First wait for your ref no. then further talk via email or fax with the help of ref no.

I am sending my application on Monday 11 Dec in order to avoid non-business day delay.

Hi Azhar,

Q26: Date of your first pay slip
Is this the date of the pay slip or the "start" period of payment?
For Example, for the payment period 21-November-05 to 20-December-05, where the date of the salary slip is 25-December-05.
But for the next month (i.e. 21-December-05 to 20-January-06) the date of the salary slip is 31-Jan-06, so what should be the response of Q. 26 and Q. 27; seems confusing to me.

Q27: Date of your last or 12th pay slip
Is this the date of the pay slip or the "End" period of payment?

Q28: Country Code = A, B, C, D, E
There is no mention of country code in the guidance notes specifically.
A,B,C,D,E is refered as bands. But logically after reading the guidance notes it seems it should be A,B,C,D,E.

Q29: Earning Country
This is OK.

Q30: Amount earned in Q29 in local currency
This should be in the GBP, I guess, as the HSMP case worker is not going to convert the rate for you. May be one can attach the rate conversion sheet on the attachment and explain on the piece of paper the total amount earned, and the GBP equivalent.

Q31: Earning band = 1,400+ ....... + 40,000+, after conversion from local earning to GBP
Earning band = 7500+ for band D country (For Example)

Q26 & Q27:
I just referred pay slip to the start period but if you are going to apply in December then claim period would be start from September 2005 to November 2006 (Evidence required of any of last 15 months). Mine is December 2005 to November 2006.

Q28 & Q31
A,B,C,D,E is not a band name. A,B....E are country codes (Check old HSMP guidance). You can take example of an IELTS bands, there are nine bands in IELTS (1 - 9). These bands shows your English skill. You can suppose General Training & Academic training as country code. Your IELTS test report shows that in certain training module you got certain band. Same like this in HSMP, you can say that in Country Code D you got 7,500+ band.

Q30:
You need to show your total 12 months gross income in your local currency (if you earned in your country, for abroad earning please see guidance). As I am going to show "Pakistan Rupees (PKR) 999,999/="

Think dear, why they are asking for band, code, country and income. They will put all these information on currency conversion websites and will check your result.

Kindly check http://www.xe.com/ucc/ and check your country currency code, for India I think it is "India Rupees (INR)". Reason for that, provide them exact same currency conversion information where they will check your band.

Wish you good luck.
