I am on a SEGS visa. Wanted to go to school as well on my visa but dismissed the idea cos i thought it would be a waste of time since I could easily switch back in country to students after my SEGS expires. I called the home office to make enquiries regarding this and was told SEGS is purposely for to give you the chance to work after your education to gain uk working experience but you can study again along side if you want.
It really depends on what you want to do and why you have to study at this time.
all the best
What is SEGS?
SEGS is a scheme that allows some students
to work in the UK for up to 12 months after
they have finished their course. Originally only
for certain Science and Engineering graduates
and postgraduates, SEGS has now been
extended to all other students who complete a
Master’s degree or PhD that they started after
1 May 2006.
Can I change back to student status after
completing SEGS?
If you plan to do another course after SEGS
you can only switch back to student status
inside the UK if you have not travelled
outside the UK during your SEGS visa. If
you do travel in and out of the UK, you will
have to return home to apply to return to the
UK as a student.
