Self-employed income inc VAT or ex vat ?

Post by Freedommmm » Tue Dec 12, 2006 1:27 am

I am in Australia where we have GST (same as VAT in UK)

As I operate as a limited company, my invoices attract a 10% tax (you can call it VAT). Therefore, I get paid the gross amount plus the GST/VAT every time.

Having asked this question with HSMP info line, they said they believe I can claim my income inclusive of the GST/VAT.

Eg. if for one week my invoice was for $2000 AUD + $200 GST = $2200 total. So for HSMP i can claim income of $2200 for this week.

I would like to confirm a 100% that it is correct? Has anybody had a similar situation ?
