Tier 2 extension advice please

Hi experts,

I am renewing my Tier 2 visa in May 2013, however, I have a criminal conviction for a motoring offence. I was handed out 8 points on my licence and a fine of £500 in January 2012. Obviously, I will declare the conviction on the application form, however, I am concerned whether it will have an impact on the outcome of the application.

Please advice.
