Is your partner British and married to you?

Are you currently married to a British Citizen?
If you are, then you can apply for naturalisation once you have got ILR.
Passport application can be done once you have been approved for nauralisation and have attended the ceremony.

Then the steps are :
1. Apply for ILR on SET(M) form if your current visa is a spouse of BC visa
2. Once ILR approved, apply for BC naturalisation - AN form
3. Once BC approved and ceremony done, apply for passport

Your wife can apply for child benefit because she is British. You can only apply for child benefit once you have got ILR.

Benefits won't affect your BC naturalisation application but if you are claiming benefits it it will affect your ILR application as you are not entitled, except for joint tax credit claims

then you tick yes in the box under the column for your spouse - she is allowed to claim and it will not affect your application,
