Applying for Tier 2 from India - What forms required - help!

Hi

I'm currently on a PSW visa and will be applying for my Tier 2 general visa from India (we've been given sponsorship details last week). I understand that the online form to be filled in is the one on this link http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ApplyNow.aspx
Even after I select the appropriate visa on the first page of the form, at no stage of the application am I asked for CoS or employer details. So I did a bit of digging around and went through the guide to supporting documents (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... t2-gen.pdf). It says "If you make an online application you must also print application form VAF9 and Appendix 5 off and submit with your supporting documents". This is clear BUT my question is if there is an online version of these forms as well that I have to fill?

Any help would be much appreciated.

No it doesn't. It says nothing of the sort. This is what is actually written:

If your country does not support online applications you must complete and submit application form VAF9 and Appendix 5
If you make an online application you must also print it off and submit with your supporting documents

Is is not obvious that it in the second statement is referring to the on-line submission (that you print this)?

Thanks, appreciate your response. Yes, I do understand that it does not refer to online submission and that it is to do with filling them in and adding as a supporting document.

Reason I asked was because, a solicitor has been helping my employer with the whole sponsorship process and in their last email to me they said there is a form online as well on which the same details have to be filled in.

My question in email:
At no point in the tier 2 online application was I asked for CoS details or employment details, so I’m wondering if I need to provide all the necessary details in a cover letter?

Solicitor response:
This information needs to be provided in a separate form (see https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ia ... STATE=true where you should be able to access this. I'm having trouble accessing this on our system at the moment so cant send through actual link). The information you will be required to give will be the same as per VAF 9 Appendix 5 (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... 9-app5.pdf)


While I understand these details have to be provided and this form filled in, I cannot understand or find whether there is an online form that also needs to be filled.

I might be confusing the hell out of you with the way I've said this, so apologies if I have.

Just to clarify, the online form that is available on http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ApplyNow.aspx does not ask for any CoS or employer details which is why my initial question came up.

The details are asked in Appendix 5 which is not asked in ONline application. Appendix 5 needs to be submitted along with online application. hope this clears your doubt
