t2 general cos start date

hi all,

I am posting on behalf of a friend.

he is on t1 post study and his employer is willing to sponsor him to obtain t2 general.

he is currently working with them and visa due to expire in june. they normally start the process 2 month before. because of his situation, they want to apply earlier for him and here is what they want to do

bring the start date to april and submit the application in feb

what happens when she is granted visa earlier than april, does he have to leave the country and enter again or the visa start from whatever date it is approved regardless of the start data on his application


so for instance the aplication says that his start date is 20 april and current psw expires in june . he applies in early feb and granted visa in early march. will his new visa start from march rather than april and can he work for the employer sooner than the start date
