PEO for Self Employed/Contractors- Avoid Glasgow/Cardiff

Post by nitinka » Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:59 pm

Folks.. for people who are claiming earnings via Self Employed / Director of Limited companies, please avoid choosing Cardiff or Glasgow.. Been told to avoid by the UKBA folks.

Maybe i should have gone through in detail thru this site, but i was naive :) ! Whoever would have expected different centres to not have sufficiently trained case workers ( or whatever the reason is).

Hopefully this post saves some time for some one. My search for an appointment continues :)

Can you please elaborate what went wrong? I have a cardiff appointment next month. I am employed + self-employed.

EDIT: Nevermind, I booked Croydon to be safe. 8)

For everyone else

I was informed by the UKBA that the case workers at Cardiff and Glasgow are not trained to handle cases for self employed or contract employees.

Glasgow does not accept applications which rely on self-employment (in part or in full). They even state this on the website. Cardiff will accept these applications, but they may take longer to process (but this is the same as for other PEO's too).
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.

Confirm PEO Appointment against cancellation and new appoint

It is very hard to find new appointment and takes lots of effort, because many people attempts to book on website at same time midnight, but if you want to allow me to catch any cancellations for you during daytime or new appointment, please contact to advertising link deleted by moderator

Self Employed/Contractor

I am self Employed/Contractor and was successfully granted T1 visa extension at PEO Cardiff on same day.
The UKBA staff are well trained @PEO Cardiff but some additional checks if they feel, specifically for limited company people, they have to send your applications to PEO Sheffield.

PEO Cardiff (Employeed + Ltd Company)

Post by vam » Fri Mar 15, 2013 3:42 pm

Hi,

I went to Cardiff on 5th Mar 2013 for Tier 1 general extension, the CW told it will take 7 days for processing but its been more than 10 days but didnt get any reply.

It got delayed because I shown Payslips and dividend vouchers from limited company.

How many days it will take to get the result for PEO applications ?

Thank you.

Hi ,

Below is the paragraph mentioned by UKBA (URL: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... tem=199635)

Customer should note that Tier 1 General or SET (O) applications relying on self employed earnings, directors dividends or salaries from a limited company of which they are a sole director, are highly likely to be complex and will not receive a same day decision with the PEO. If customers choose to proceed with these applications then the case will be referred to a specialised team outside of the PEO and although these applications will be prioritised for processing, we will be unable to provide a specific date that customer can expect to receive an outcome.

My personal experience/suggestion is to avoid cardiff if applicant is a Director of a limited company. They may process on same day but chances are less compared to other PEO.

My preference will be Solihull or Croydon for any future application through PEO or better by post(since they are processing many applications nowadays in 3-4 weeks)

Cheers
Naveen
