What to expect after medical checkup ?

Post by bishopofnairobi » Wed Dec 27, 2006 3:06 am

I have tried to be good netizen- browsed the FAQ before posting this.

1) I applied for Canadian permanent residency through Buffalo back in 2005. It got forwarded to the NY consulate. They waived my interview and sent me the medical checkup forms. The test results were sent to Ottawa on Dec 22 2006. What should I expect next ? Will they sent me the "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" (COPR) ? How soon can I realistically expect it?

2) My US visa is expiring on January 9th 2006. I am considering waiting out the arrival of the COPR. Will a "slightly out of status" US visa cause an issue when crossing the border to Canada assuming I have a valid COPR ?

Thank you in advance to those kind souls out there choosing to respond to my query.
