Hello All,
Let me paste a quote from guidance notes before I ask my Question,
"113. where an applicant is providing
evidence from an accountant or
accountancy firm the accountant must be
either a fully qualified chartered accountant
or a certified accountant who is a member
of a registered body. If the earnings were
for work done while the applicant was in
the UK, such evidence must come from an
accountant or accountancy firm in the UK
who is a member of a recognised supervisory
body. These are: The Institute of Chartered
Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW);
the Institute of Chartered Accountants in
Scotland (ICAS); the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Ireland (ICAI); the Association
of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA);
the Chartered Institute of Public Finance
and Accountancy (CIPFA), the Institute of
Financial Accountants (IFA); or the Chartered
Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)"
I am in Employment + I am director of a LTD company where I only receive annual dividends (no salary). I am using a well known accountancy firm in Leeds for 4 years, but I spoke to my accountant today and came to know that they are not registered with (ICAEW) or any of above mentioned bodies. He said he can get an ACCA registered CA to produce letters for visa purpose. he also mentioned that they are registered accounts and been in business for 20 years without any issue, they are registered with ITA (I am not sure if it was ITA or IDA).
I am bit confused now, would it be recommend to use a different accountant for letter and P/L statements?
There are only 57 firms in Leeds registered with ICAEW but there are 1000+ accoutants in leeds. mostly (ICAEW) registred firms work with big corporations, my company is only small.
please advice.
Thanks
