undocumented irish immigrants in US

Post by cocoa123 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 11:51 pm

I hear discussions about this from time to time on radio. Irish lobby in US is pushing US gov to immigration reform in order to help immigrants from Ireland to "get documents". What does it mean? Why these irish citizens being called undocumented? Is this because their US visas have expired? Or might be they are on valid visa, but do not have right to work? What is the issue with these people?

I listened to the programme too, the issues is that many of them went on holiday and end up becoming illegal aliens while searching for greener pastures.
Meaning? visa expired, they cant go out and they are working illegally in the state. Many were there for many years 10,15,18 years illegally.
The issue of illegal aliens is a Natural and Global Phenomenon. Same scenario is happening in Ireland, Uk, Australia, New Zealand, all over Europe and all around the world.

Obama's administration is planning to favour some of them and let's hope Enda will reciprocate the same about genuine illegal aliens and abandoned asylum seekers living in Ireland for ages.
God Bless Ireland.

OK, I see now. It just a nice world "undocumented" being used instead of "illegal" that INIS used to call them here in Ireland. BTW Allan Shatter has confirmed that the gov does not have any plans for any amnesty for the illegal immigrants here. They must leave the state. Double standards?
