Tier 1 General Extn. Urgent Pls Help

Hello Experts,

I have registered as sole trader and I am going to apply for Extension in Second week of March. One of the my friend suggested me to do some trading in ebay.com to show as income.

Please advise me if Home Office accepts trading done on ebay as source of income ? If yes than please share any experience if anyone has regarding applying through ebay.

any kind of business that earns a net profit can be shown as earnings

Thank You, but my confusion is that how can I present my ebay account.
and what could be taken as formula(Income - Expenses - Tax = Net Profit or Income - Expenses.
