Mother's name misspelt in my passport

Hi,

My mother's name in my passport is Lakshmi. My mother has all the documents in the name of Lakshmamma. I am planning to bring my parents abroad.

May I know what is the procedure of changing my mother's name in my passport? Do I get a new booklet(passport)? How long it takes to get the passport corrected?

Tried to reach indian consulate by phone, my calls never got answered...

I called Indian embassy thrice in last 2 weeks to enquire about newborn's birth certificate and passport, everytime the call was answered...however the person on other hand usually not proficient in english... I tried around 3:30 in the evening...

You need apply for new passport with correct mother's name...
