Can I Apply For indian PCC while waiting Visa from UKBA

I have to submit my Indian PCC to Autralian IMMI, but problem is My VISA is over now while waiting for new Visa. I have the Application Letter from UKBA . AND have asked for my Passport back for the purpose of PCC. waiting for passport. Will INDIAN HIGH COMMISSION will approve my application as my visa is over now, but I will submit my original passport and application letter for my futher visa.

pls guide me if anyone had this kind of experiance.
