Volunteering within community, ie planting trees, helping to prepare for festivals. I read somewhere that volunteering, ie Olympics volunteering, has a positive impact on ILR since you are trying to be a good citizen.

or not true?

Oh right, so you don't actually want to do this, you merely think it will serve to blow pixie dust in the face of the caseworker who then automatically approves your ILR?

Looks like you are posting this topic in every category. As mentioned earlier do not risk it as you are nearing your ILR. Soyou are thinking to replace your bank statements etc with the volunteering certificate and thinking you might get away with?

If you dont have work permission on visa, like student or visit, you simply cannot work legally either paid or un-paid, for charity or community or NGO or London Stock Exchange.

You don't have to be so stroppy :), again just an idea of volunteering obviously not worth a risk. Thanks
