Long Residence - Dependent

Post by newmoon » Sat Feb 16, 2013 7:17 pm

Hi

I am applying for ILR through Long Residence route and I am a dependent of Tier 1 (G) migrant.

I wonder whether my husband can apply for settlement once I get my ILR or he has to wait until he completes his 5 years under Tier 1 G or is there any other option available to apply for ILR once I get my ILR.

Thanks

If you are granted he can switch to being your dependant, but that will begin a period of five years to ILR, unless he too can apply sooner based on 10 years. Otherwise, he can remain as a Tier 1 migrant and apply when his five years on that category has completed.
