Clarification on max absence new rules

Hi Everyone,

Just read through the new rule on calculating 5 year residence under tier 1 (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary). Interesting, UKBA now make the absence calculation simpler but stricter.

My understanding is that, under the new rule, you can have max 180 days out of uk per 12 months and this is a lot of relaxation comparing to previous requirement. But on the other hand, you can not disregard business trips of more than 180 days per 12 month as ppl did before using discretion. So you need to be careful if you need to travel a lot.

Am I right on this point?
