You don't need to undergo the RLMT if you are switching from PSW. Whether or not your current employer would be inclined or motivated to apply for a sponsorship licence (with all of the time and effort required) really depends on how valuable your services are to the business. If anyone can fill the role then why not simply hire a local and avoid all the bureaucracy? That's where all of you powers of persuasion can come into play.
