OCI collection

Hi all,

Has anyone gone through the process of collecting OCI in-person recently at HCI London. Can you please confirm the timings.

The timings on the website indicate 08.30 to 12.00 hours for issue of OCI tokens and for submission of passports and 16.30 to 17.00 for collection.

Whilst I know the collection timings are fine, can someone confirm the 08.30 to 12.00 time slot as when I went for submission of OCI application in January.. there were some cards displayed on OCI counter indicating temporary change of timings - whereas website not having any indication of this and therefore few people were completely annoyed.

Just want to make sure if I am taking day off and travelling to London, I dont waste my day.

OP is aware of the timings - he is expecting someone to reconfirm based on their recent experiences.

Yes it is the same as mentioned in the website.

It was my experience 2 months back.

Issue of Tokens for submission of OCI applications 0830 hrs. for first 100 tokens
1030 hrs. for final 75 tokens
Opening of Counters for submission of OCI applications 0930 - 1300 hrs

Hi All

Can anyone tell me please that if go to CGI for collection of OCI and get token in morning say at 8.30, will i get my passport with OCI sticker and OCI card on same day during their afternoon hours. or do I have to go their again on some other day.

do you receive status update sequentially for each stage?

looking at previous posts, it seems HCI scan the photo/signature normally within 2 weeks but I can't see any status change for almost 3 weeks now.

applied in person at HCI oci on 27th May
current online status - UNDER-PROCESS ON

anyone applied end of may?

the timings are correct but better arrive a bit late otherwise you have to queue along with applicants for OCI submission. i would come around 9.30 or 10.

my oci is ready for collection in london.could anyone give exact address of the HCI office to go and collect.I am planning to collect my card n my families.do i need to take any documents to take my wife n daughter oci cards.

Hi

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had to wait this long? or if its normal to wait this long?

We submitted our oci application in September

Date of Acknowledgement : 9 Sept 2013
Date of Printing : 3 October 2013
Dispatched From OCI - New Delhi - 7 October 2013
Document Received at London - 8 October 2013

Its now the beginning of November...Does anyone know if the status is supposed to be changed to 'GRANTED' or how long it takes, as its been nearly 2 months since we started the process and are flying in December?

Any help or advice is appreciated? as we still haven't sent our passports off yet, as we were sure if your supposed to wait for the status to change to 'Granted' or not?

There will be no further change in the status. Your OCI is ready for collection at HCI since 8th Oct.

ps: the online status will also show the OCI number starting with A.......

Its just not very clear on the site as to whether your supposed to wait for another status update? So once its at this stage its ok for us to go and collect and process in Person at the HCI office?

Just wanted to check one more thing...!?
We posted our application to the office with the self addressed return special delivery envelop as requested

Does this mean we can post our passports to the HCI office, special delivery to be stamped and they should return them in our special delivery envelope?

i applied for oci on 10th october in person at HCI London. its been 6 weeks still my application status is showing under process. I am getting really worried coz i had already book my ticket as on the website it says ur oci will be processed in 6 weeks.
As u all know how hard it is to contact them. Plz someone help.

With current trend it takes around 40 days for status to change from Date of Acknowledgement to Processed and then around 10 days from Processed to Dispatched from Delhi. So if you do not have enough days in hand then be prepared to apply for Tourist visa.
