I don´t want to be an ilegal

Post by Car13 » Fri Jan 12, 2007 5:27 pm

I'm looking for information that will lead me to work legally in UK.

It can be volunteer work. But I would prefer a work in my area.
I'm a soccer coach and have worked with children, teenagers and adults.

I have 15 years of experiencie. Have formed many teams in many levels.

I'm 43 years old and married with no children. I'm from Brazil and I'm ready for any work.

I can work in equips, schools or private clubs in recreation area.

But as I said I can also be a volunteer.

I wait for any answers.

Thanks.

Even if you don´t say soccer and say football, I think you got the message.

Thanks anyway for reading the post.

If you were just a volunteer, how would you support yourself, and your wife, in the UK?

There are many institutions around the world that gives you place to live, food and some other help.

I can mantain myself and my wife. I have funds available as I needed.

However, I only mentioned volunteer because I have friends like me that do this kind of work in other countries.

I would like to go to UK. I have lived in USA for many years. Have traveled in many other countries.

When I thought of UK, is because the english like football as brazilian like. And I just want to share my work with them. But if this is not possible, I know that other windows will open for me. I`m a good person and I believe in myself.

Thanks.

I don't deny it .... but sorry .... I just cannot see how you would possibly be able to get a visa to enter the UK ... based upon what you have posted.

Have you investigated the possibility of obtaining a Portugese passport if your grandparents were born in Portugal?

I must admit that I do not know enough about this subject to provide further guidance. It is a long shot (sorry, football talk) but it is an option worth investigating. I apologise in advance if this is a false lead.

If eligible for a Portugese passport, you could live and work in the UK. I think a certain football club in SW6, London may require a new manager shortly.

Thank you for the information Mafia. I don't know how it works in UK, but in USA the person just need a sponsor to work.

So, of course, if a club are interested, they could sponsered me.

If you have any list of clubs or if any other member of this forum have these informations I thank in advance.

Clubs, sites, any link will be appreciated.

It is not nearly that simple. They would have to show that there is no suitable candidate from the UK, or anywhere else in the EEA.

Is Portuguese citizenship a possibility?

John is correct - it will be difficult to go down the work permit route unless you are an internationally renowed football player or coach.

I don't have a substantial link for the Portugese citizenship beyond this article http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=32189

Here's the interesting part:

"The law also grants Portuguese nationality to the grandchildren of Portuguese emigrants - a longstanding demand by Portuguese immigrant communities around the world.

Up to now, only the sons and daughters of emigrants had a right to Portuguese nationality. By expanding citizenship rights to third-generation emigrants, the law will mainly benefit the vast communities of Portuguese in Brazil and other countries of Latin America, especially Venezuela and Argentina, where the waves of Portuguese immigration date back decades."

Good Luck!
