Interesting point. It seems to me that with the new system the HO does not care what you do as long as you have enough salary points.
For example, one could seek initial HSMP approval as a highly paid biochemist and then seek extension as a highly paid fashion designer (as unlikely as that is).
This was not possible under previous rules. I think it is a good step forward: a lot of highly skilled people often change career paths and this enables them to do so without immigration implications.
