Spouse Visa granted :)

Post by navodwickra » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:45 am

After waiting for 3 months my wife got her spouse visa approved today. We applied from Sri Lanka but as usual they sent it to Chennai (India).

Application Date : 10/12/2012
Process start Date : 16/12/2012
Passport received: 11/03/2013

They've given 2 years and 9 months.

Documents my wife submitted:
1. Certificate of Marriage
a. Copy from AG office(local). This is a certified government document in native language.
b. Translated copy from Ministry of foreign affairs.
2. Photos, Invitations, Invoices of our wedding.
3. Our past photos, emails, phone records, greeting cards and envelopes(this is important than the actual card)

4. Payslips (12 in total), Bank statements (12 to cover the payslips)
5. Original Contract, Letter from employer stating my annual gross salary, P60 (5)

6. Tenancy agreement of my flat, Letter from the letting agents stating they are aware of my wife and it does not violate the housing act(over crowding)
7. Water bills, council tax
8. SU form
9. Letter from sponsor (which is me) and a covering letter.
10. IELTS result sheet.

That's about it :) hope this will help anyone who applies from Sri Lanka. :D

Congratulations, 3 months is not that long. If you go the fiancé route to enter the UK and marry whilst there, then long delays occur to get FLR (m). You cannot work either until you get your biometric resident permit.
Add your timeline to Skydrive for FLR(M)

Thanks. Yeah I know fiancé visa can be very painful.
