APPLYING TO ILR-Not paying my credit card bills

Post by veera_ratna » Wed Mar 27, 2013 12:16 pm

Hi ,
I am with tier1 general visa in uk , This year i will be completing 5 years on HSMP. I am planing to apply ILR in july , i have passed life in the uk exam already .
From last year i am not paying my credit card bills and am not paying the overdraft from the bank also because of financial problem . Debit collection dept are sending the letters to me.
My first tier1 stamping date is 25 july 2008 , then extended visa valid until 16 august 2013.
my salary is weekly .

My questions are
1. Is there any problem for my ILR if i dont pay the above ?
2. What is the earliest date to apply for my ILR visa ?
3. can i apply with the payslips from 15 july 2012 to 15 july2013 ?
Please give me information and thanks in advance
thank you.

1. As long as Bank and Credit Card Company does not take a CCJ against you.
2. 28 days before 16th August 2013.

It will certainly affect your credit history and may affect your case if any county court judgement or action notification has been issued against you.

Start making payments even if £1 per month token payments to show intention to pay debts. Check the ccj register for any ccjs as these must be declared. Providing you're making payments this will not show bad character.

You could check with www.trustonline.co.uk,whether any CCJs have been issued against you. Do it as soon as possible. Start paying back in little amounts. Don't ignore any longer. First you need to come to an agreement with the Bank and Credit Card Company, as to how you are going to settle these amounts.
