Solihull ILR (HSMP + Tier 1 G) Approved

Post by april3 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:10 pm

Got ILR approved from Solihull today. Quite pleased with Solihull PEO staff. Very well managed. Arrived 30 minutes before appointment. Was let in to a waiting area and seated after a security check. Was advised to switch off mobile phones and electronics, and asked to wait. Was given a token and was briefed about how the application would progress. After 1 hour wait was called to case worker counter. Lucky to get assigned a very good case worker who liked to keep things simple.

Was first asked for passports and application form. Case worker had to make a few checks on my passport and visas on the computer. Case worker was experienced, quickly identified the application type i.e. ( HSMP + Tier 1 G) and used a very specific working sheet to summarise contents of my application form after skimming through the application form.

Then I was asked for Life in UK test cert. for applicant + dependant, and CW mentioned that we did well in the test and had good scores.

Then CW asked for earnings evidence. I provided payslips + personal bank statement. I had prepared a working sheet with earnings table, but did not provide it as I realised the CW knew her job well and was quick to check and tally payslip net figures and bank statement.

Then was asked for co-habitation evidence. I had taken a quite a lot of letters as I was not sure which ones would be valid. Case worker selected one joint bank statement dated 2012, council tax dated 2013. Case worker asked if had birth certificate of child by any chance. I offered birth certificate of my older child dated 2008, but case worker did not want this and checked if I had any thing newer, luckily I had birth certificate of my other child dated 2011 and this was accepted. The case worker seems to have picked one letter from each year.

Then further checks were performed on my application and I was informed that I can have approval letter the same day and the original documents were taken except passport which was returned to me. I was glad on hearing of approval and then I was asked to proceed for payment. Was asked to show the card, details of which were on the form for payment. Card was returned and only payment page was taken.

Then was asked to wait to be called for biometrics. Waited almost 1 hour to be called for biometrics. Biometrics was done and passports taken from me and was asked to wait again. Had to wait again for 1 hour and was handed the approval letter all original documents and passports and was clearly briefed about when the BRP cards would be sent.

Solihull staff are excellent, they take care to explain the process, and at each stage explain what to expect next. I have found this forum very helpful, thanks to all who post and keep this going. Hope this post of mine is helpful.

Congratulations!!!
Good thing about Solihull PEO is that they verify the application and do the other checks and ask us for payment. Croydon PEO takes the payment and do the checks later.

Congratulations to PO. This also rules out the rumour that Solihull was going to take payment before checks from 1st April.

Perfect!
I'm sure even caseworker would be glad that you provided exactly what was required as per rules. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is the way to go, keep it simple.
Goodluck.

Please clarify the following:-
1.What are these further checks done on your application?
Not sure what the further checks were, was informed by the CW that some were needed.
2. Until you received your approval letter you remained inside the building.
Yes I remained inside the building, some others were asked to come back in one hour, but I was not.
3.Did you pay by credit Card?
Yes.
4.Is the PEO full y crowded. Very difficult to find appointments
Yes, the PEO can seat about 25 to 30 people in the waiting area it it was almost full.
5. Did you have difficulty in finding the PEO?
Just a little bit, as you don't see any signs until you are right in front of the entrance.
