Can I work outside UK (HSMP) ?

Dear Forum Members,

I am back with few more questions. I am in final round of interview with UK based company who wants to send me to Germany for 6 months to execute project. As far as rules are concerned I have got my HSMP approval and I can not be outside UK for more than 6 months in 5 years. So my question to group is if I am paid in UK and paying taxes in UK however working in Germany for 6 months straight away. Can It be a problem during FLR and subsequently to ILR?

I am on HSMP and company wants to offer me provided I travel to germany to execute project. I will be working in UK based company, paying taxes in UK, however travelling to Germany and coming back every weekend. Which means in a month i would be outside UK for approximately 20 days and this is going to continue for 9 months. can this be problematic during FLR and subsequently to ILR.

I would appreciate your feedback urgently.

I would say yes, it will be an issue. Your HSMP visa is a UK visa and basically you will be using it as a UK tourist visa for weekends. Only my opinion tho...

There was a post recently on this subject, some guy with a plan to work in Belgium on UK HSMP and leave his dependents in UK.....

You do understand you will need a German Work Permit and Residence Permit. German WP's are a bugger to get, my non-EU gf waited nearly five months to get hers - this was from the UK....

i do feel you can very well work in other countries as long as you are on the payrolls on UK since you will be working for a company based in UK and paying allthe taxes and everything .....

Anyone else has adifferent opinion on this ???

I too am in a similar situation where in i have a offer from a company for work based in Switzerland ....

Very much yes ... Its a UK based company and i would be on payroles of UK .....

So how would this be a concern for FLR and further down ILR aswell ....
