tier 1 spouse outside uk (pakistan), maintenance requirement

Post by jigars143 » Mon May 27, 2013 7:59 pm

Dear Members. Could anyone please help me with my query below.

I am on Tier 1 General and in the UK for more than 9 years now. I have to apply for my wife's visa who lives in Pakistan at the moment.

Could anyone tell me what is the requirement of maintenance funds? is it £1,500 (£600 + £900) or is it £2,700 (£1,800 + £900). I am really confused and need help. The rules changed in April 2013 and confusing me a lot.

Also, if you can confirm what is the per annum income requirement. Is it £18,600?

I will appreciate your urgent response.

Nabeel Bhai how long you are in uk for:::If you are in UK for more than 12 months and you are not applying with your dependant then you need only £600 to show per dependant:

Go to point # 45

Dear Wasi bhai thank you for your urgent response.

So this means I don't even need to show maintenance funds for myself of £900. Also, is their any requirement for the Income of £18,600?

Thank you once again for your urgent response.

You really don't need to show even your own £900 but being on safe side if you have then keep it until you apply. Best practice is get print out of the notes(only page 1 & page 12)I sent to you highlight point 45 with a highlighter and submit it with your application. £18600 is for British nationals to apply for their spouse. There is no need for PBS.

But don't forget to submit your pay slips and employer's letter as you have to show a job. So that you would be able to support your dependants.

Hi Wasi

I have answer to ur questions.

1. I have been told u have to make same application for both of them

2. If u delay more than 3 months, ur wife won't have indefinite because she won't complete the time period so it is advisable to fly As soon as she can.

Hope answer ur questions.

Thanx 4 ur reply Nabeel Bhai. I called gerry's FedEx today. They have told me that I have to fill separate apps as I have to have 2 appointments. So two apps but photocopy of supporting docs will be f9. I have 3 years extension and they have to be with me for two years to get ILR.
Many thanks. Stay in touch if we can help each other in future
