Child Benefit on ILR/FLR

Post by sshanmug » Wed May 29, 2013 4:04 pm

Hi,

I am on ILR and my wife is on FLR(M) visa. My son was born in India and he was issued Entry Clearance on par with my wife's visa.

My wife is eligible for ILR in 2 months.

Can I apply for child benefit for my son. His visa says "No recourse to public funds".

Kindly Clarify.

Thanks and Regards,
Senthil

As a settled person you can apply for child benefit for a qualifying young person/child providing you did not sign an undertaking to sponsor that person. A claim for tax credits must be in joint names.
