There is no guidance yet published on the IND website on who is authorised to perform English Language assessments.

Does anyone know anything?

It will be Cambridge University through their ESOL test. ESOL tests will commence early in 2005.

Dear tnavon,

Did you read the 24k document on the website?
ESOL is not the only standards. There should be a list of people authorised to perform examinations in lieu of Cambridge test. I am after the list of those examiners who offer an alternative test.

As you see, there should be some facility to prove language qualification before March 2005.

Well... This effectively means that its practically impossible to apply for naturalisation.
British laws and its actual enforcement processes contradict themselves almost always!!!!!!

Catch -22 everywhere!!

To my knowledge, no one's been designated yet; it's likely to be some time before they get around to that. I have it in mind, however, to apply for designated status as soon as possible.

I think they mean that if you have a degree or similar from UK intstitutions then you dont need english test...for example BA MBA BA etc...
