ROR ID of EU expired

Post by nicka6 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 12:16 pm

Hi,

I would really appreciate if someone can answer my question, please...

I know that there is no requirement to provide a passport of EU if Residence Card was issued in the past to non-eu spose, when applying for ROR.

But what if that passport of EU has already expired?

Will HO request a new passport to confirm identity of EU once again?

Thank you

Also I understand that in order to qualify for ROR I need to proof that my husband was exercising treaty rights from the moment divorce is commenced to decree absolute is issued.

I have not filed for divorce yet, because I am not sure if I meet this requirement.

My husband is a student and I support him financially (working full time).

Does it mean that he is exercising his rights as a "student" or "self-sufficient"?

Thank you for the link Recardo,

As I feared, it seems like I won't qualify for ROR if I file for divorce now :(
because my husband doesn't have private health insurance.

I pointed to him that he has to have one to comply with eu regulations, but he said that he doesn't care as he is not going to apply for PR.

I don't know what to do... Will it help if buy health insurance my self for both of us?

Please anyone who was in similar situation, share you experience.

Sorry Ricardo, but I didn't get your last reply.
What makes more sense?
Because my situation doesn't make any sense to me...

I am living legally in UK for nearly 10 years, from 2008 as a spouse of EU...
And next year, when my RC will expire I might end up with nothing, because my husband is an ssss

I only see one way out - is to divorce him now and try to retain my right of residence.
So, will I be able to do it if I buy private health insurance myself?

Thank you for any suggestions...
