Dependant visa extension query

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 Dependant visa staying with my husband who is a TIER2 ICT long term staff. Our current leave to remain expires on January 2014. I am on full time permananent employment here. I am planning for my maternity leave from OCT2013-FEB2014 and go to india(our home location) for my delivery.
My query
1. As our visa expires on Jan 2014 can I apply for my visa extension from India. Provided my husband has it extended from UK before our leave expires and receive all documents.

2. I am not sure read somewhere if u apply from home location it will not be an extension it will be leave to enter(fresh application). If so will that in anyway affect my job here?

The legal requirement for the employer is that you have right to work in the UK. that right comes if u are entry clearenence or an extension. hence, no effect on your job.
