On Wok Permit - ILR and new job query

I am on work permit issued in Nov-2008 working with same employer since then and would now be applying for ILR 28 days before (around 7-10th Oct-13).
if I am being offered a new job say on 25-Jul-13 and my 3 months notice period ends on 25-Oct-13, which is after my ILR (hopefully). Would this be ok?
I mean would my current employer have to immediatley notify UKBA in July that I have resigned and does that mean I would not be eligible to apply for ILR if I am in notice period?

Your guidance would be deeply appreciated.

one of the requirements of an ILR application is for the employer to certify that you are still required for the employment in question. After you have given notice the employer is not going to give such a certificate.
