Tier 2 General Dependant over 18 applying from outside of UK

Post by IgorSHCH » Tue Jun 25, 2013 10:06 pm

Hi,

I have been given a leave to remain in UK under TIER 2 General category.

Could anyone please clarify for me whether or not I can bring my wife into UK? She does not have a long-term visa (i.e. can't switch into TIER 2 Generial dependant), will be applying from her home counry and obviously older that 18 y.o.

Any help will be much appreaciated.

Regards
Igor

Yes, your spouse may apply. She must be over 18.

If you are the partner or dependent child under 18 of a migrant who is in or coming to the UK in most work categories outside the points-based system, you can apply for a visa to join them here.

See it says that partner under 18 can apply, I can't find no where it saying that partner has to be 18 :(

please help as my partner is just 17.

Thank you for the reply, vinny.

I'm a bit confused by the ukba explanation here

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ligibility

Especially by the following sentence: "Your dependants can be over 18 years old if they are in the UK now as dependants."

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Igor
